Here is the requirement:
Your secondwriting project will add a descriptive element to your current narrativeessay.
(As youintegrate descriptive writing into your narrative essay, highlight the new descriptiveelements by changing the text color in your word processor. You need on averagea total of 750 new words. This does not need to be all in the same place, butif you spread the description out too much, the action in the story will getbogged down).
Think of apart of your story that could benefit from a change of pace. This is onefunction of descriptive writing within a story. A good tactic is to createsuspense, but rather than resolving it, prolong the suspense so that thereaders curiosity grows. You can do this by slowing down the action anddescribing details, moods, or emotions of characters involved. The trick is toNOT be wordy. You want to be artful and creative with words. Paint a picture withwords. Take your reader to some place or time and give them a vivid experiencethrough your writing.
Draw inspirationfrom the style and descriptive mode of writing that you find in the Autobiographyof Malcom X. Reflect on his way of writing and if useful try to replicatethe way he presents moods and feeling.
