Reflect on this week’s required readings on value-based insurance design and purchasing. In your initial post, discuss the following in five well-developed paragraphs:
• What are the key differences between fee-for-service and value-based payment arrangements for patients and providers? Which presents more opportunity for quality financial improvement?
• Discuss one of the cases presented in Chapter 14 in terms of its relevance to value-based design.
• Review week one Scholarly Project Options Video by Dr. Snell. Review Pdfs on Types of Projects and BOTH sample proposals provided prior to completing these last three points of your discussion.
• Describe in one paragraph why both QI and CPG projects are a good choice for translational science (implementing proven research and evidence into practice) scholarly DNP projects.
• In another paragraph briefly propose a QI project idea suitable for your work setting or a potential one. How do you envision the PDSA method for it.
• Lastly, briefly propose a CPG project idea based on your work setting and describe the roles of 7 stakeholders you could potentially present your clinical practice guideline to and what tool you will use to survey their opinions on accepting the guideline into practice.
