In recent years, the subject of ultra-processed foods has received a lot of attention, and processed foods are suggested to be a contributor to the obesity epidemic and rising prevalence of chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes. I would like you to read the following articles. The truth is, processed foods are probably found in all our kitchens, they can be great time savers and provide nutrients when short of time and often cost less than the unprocessed alternative. 

Given that these foods are a part of our life and unlikely to go away, how can we make the best choices when deciding what processed foods to use? Any other observations or comments?
