University “U” Reads Little Women Class Project
Our class is going to create a website devoted to our U community and Little Women. Well
focus on our communitys reader responses, both now in the past, our fandom, our reactions,
and any archival materials we can find regarding U’s relationship to Little Women.
Part One: Our Class Stories and Artifacts
First, well focus on our class. For some of you, this may be your first encounter reading or
watching Little Women. For others, perhaps youve read it in the past. Perhaps youve seen a
movie version. Perhaps youve done both. Perhaps you saw UIW put on Litle Women last
semester as play or even were a part of that production somehow. However, youve encountered
Little Women, youll share the experience with another student. Try to find any artifacts or
archival materials from that experience.
Archival materials might include:
Old school projects
Marginal comments in your books
Fanfiction
Ticket stubs
Diary entries
Social media screenshots
Photographs or other trinkets from the experience
Letters
Journal or blog entries
If our class is the first time, youll include archival material from this class. Tell the story to
another student, and then have that student help you consider what would make the best part to
include a blog entry as one of our classs U reads Little Women stories. Write a blog of 250-
300 words, with an artifact, and include it on the page. If you have one more than one artifact,
include it under the other artifacts section. The first Little Women blog is due on Feb, 24th.
WordPress can support Podcasts or traditional blogs, so however you choose to present your
first material is up to you.
All entries, including your own, must include interviewees name, their relationship to U, and
a picture of them with a copy of the bookwhichever book they chose.
