Use the reading “Life at the Top in America Isn’t Just Better, It’s Longer,” to examine
how health outcomes are not only about access to health care, but also about class differences in
working conditions, stress, diet, neighborhood, and family structure. Please draw on examples from the
reading to illustrate your points and discuss sociologically how life chances are shaped not only by
individual “choice” but also by group membership. Additionally, bring in relevant sociological
concepts from Chapters 1-3 of your textbook into your discussion. Please add 2-3 paragraphs at the
end about the relationship of class, status, and power to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two
years (both pre and post vaccine availability). Specifically highlighting how social and economic
factors influence people’s risk of contracting the virus, being hospitalized, and dying from the virus
over the past two years. You can include a discussion of (both pre and post vaccine availability).
