Directions
Read Chapter 3 in your textbook and watch the “The Power of Vulnerability” TED Talk.
Now write a short essay that addresses each of the following questions:
1. What are two key ideas/concepts from the video that are important for the world? Explain those
ideas/concepts and why they are important.
2. What are two ideas/concepts from the reading that are critical in understanding human behavior?
3. How would these concepts found in the reading be useful in explaining/expounding upon the ideas/concepts
from the video?
The essay should be a minimum of 1,000 words in length (not including the bibliography), single-spaced,
in 12-point Times New Roman font (including the essay title), and with 1-inch margins. Cite all reference
to external sources, including your textbook. If you cite a passage word-for-word, be sure you put the
passage in quotation marks and cite page numbers. You can use whichever citation style you like or are
most comfortable with (e.g., MLA, APA, ASA, etc.); just be consistent.
