Assignment Instructions
Think about the community in which you work or would like to work, and consider the populations you will be caring for.

Assume you have been asked to create a proposal to advance a health policy you believe will have a positive impact on your community.

Develop a 1,050- to 1,225-word health policy proposal and address the following:
• Describe the health policy you have chosen, including its origin.
• Describe the issue that the health policy is intended to impact.
• Describe the evidence that establishes the existence of the issue.
• Does the evidence indicate a sense of urgency regarding the issue?
• Explain how the health policy would impact the issue to support your practice or improve care.
• Is there evidence to support this?
• Identify all stakeholders who would be affected by this policy change (including both people and organizations who might be for or against this policy change).
• For stakeholders who might support the change, identify those who could assist in promoting, implementing, and evaluating the change and who could provide opportunities for interprofessional collaboration.
• For those opposed to the change, identify the barriers that keep them from supporting the change. What could you do to eliminate those barriers?
• Explain how you might use media, both traditional and social media, to promote your policy and impact change.
• Describe how you would evaluate your policy change outcomes.

Include a minimum of 3 current (within the last 5 years) references to support your proposal.
