You will research a debatable topic of interest. My topic is Should Experimentation on animals be allowed?

A debatable topic is one in which there exists more than one perspective. Once you have located a minimum of 4 sources, you will synthesize the information to develop your informed opinion on the topic. From there, you will compose an argumentative essay that states your position on the topic and support your position with evidence from your research.

Important Reminders:

1. For this essay, a strong thesis statement should do 3 things:

1. Acknowledge the other side

2. State your claim or position

3. Include at least 3 reasons why (these will become your supporting claims in the body paragraphs)

2. An argumentative essay should include a counterclaim

3. Your paper must include supporting evidence from the sources you have researched

4. This paper will require a Works Cited page
