After reviewing the assigned readings, address the following writing journal prompt:

“Throughout history, religion has played an important function in how societies are organized. What role did religion play in colonial societies between 1500-1700? What role does religion play in American society now? Point out some differences and similarities between how religion functions then versus now.”

Chapter 3 and the Reformation Sheet podcast can help give you important background on the topic, and make sure to use in-text citations to let the reader know what you are using. It is good practice for the section exam, where in-text citations are required. Your response will be graded “Complete” for full marks, or “Incomplete” if no post is made or the post does not fulfill the requirements.

To earn a “Complete:”

– the post should be at least two paragraphs (10 or more sentences).

– the post should reference Chapter 3 and the Reformation Sheet podcast with in-text citations.

– the post should be on topic and in your words.

An  “Incomplete” will be earned if it most of the above requirements are not fulfilled.
