1.    What are the similarities/differences between the theoretical role of a Pediatric Nurse in a more clinical setting such as a hospital, and the specifics of the role of the school Nurse? What are the actual and perceived problems/limitations of the role?

2.    Discuss some of the family situations at your school. Do you have any students/ patients who are homeless? If so, about how many? Do you have any students/patients whose parents/family members are incarcerated?  Other family/home issues?  What role do environmental impacts have on childhood development and overall health?

3.    What is the school nurses role in addressing the social issues and mental health impacts of these issues on the student population? Does the task change depend on age group? How?  

4.    Are there any language barriers or cultural issues that may impact your population? How do they impact health and health education? How do you and your nurse integrate cultural in your care? Give a specific example.
