This assignment is based on the key
concept of Analyzing ECE Environments related to guiding young children
and asks you to b) choose from one of three learning activities, c)
apply the concept from the selected activity, and then, d) write about
your experience in a one- to two-page paper.
- Reflect on a time in your life when you experienced affective guidance from a parent or teacher. Tell what happened, how it made you feel, and what impact it had (or continues to have) on your behavior. What implications can you draw for your own work with children?
Response and Reflection. Write one to two pages of text, plus a title page, and reference section if needed. All page suggestions assume
APA formatting
(title page, double spacing, 1” margins all around, 12 font, Times New
Roman, proper grammar, and punctuation). Your paper should be written in
a narrative format (not bullet points or lists). Sources are not
required but if you use outside sources, you must cite and reference
them per APA.
Include the following in your paper:
- Introduction (a paragraph to 1/3 page). A brief introduction on the activity you selected so the readers know which one you selected
- Results (1/3 to 3/4 page). A discussion of the activity results (address the questions, observation, or information outlined in the activity.
- Reflection (1/3 to 3/4 page). A
discussion on how this activity was meaningful to you as you prepare to
become an early childhood educator. The assignment should
address insights into classroom issues and events. Discuss what actions
you will take as a result of this activity, to guide young children
effectively.
