Goals and Motivations Essay

I am applying for DBA program because I want a career in the consulting and teaching by examining relevant business problems. My goals and motivations are based on the fact that DBA is typically pursued by senior level workers and executives who tend to already hold an MBA and have a significant professional experience and want to further distinguish themselves from others. In that regard, pursuing a DBA program will have various positive aspects to my career. This is because the overall objective of the DBA program is to help me to become an expert a certain area of management field as a wider discipline and to strengthen the leadership skills by exploring a specific research field. With a DBA degree, I will be different compared to a typical MBA graduate. This degree will give me a great competitive advantage because DBA program will offer me a more academic and scientific perspective of how to approach the complex business environment. Also, it will give me the new tools and methods which will help me to acquire expertise in a specific area of management. A DBA program will expose me to new academic methods like qualitative and quantitative approaches that I will be able to easily apply in the business context. With the DBA, I will become an expert in the field that will bring me a set of management and decision-making skills that may qualify me for s senior-level leadership positions and new career opportunities such as an applied researcher or a consultant. This program will prepare me to lead in business, government, education, non-profit and healthcare industries through the understanding of the challenges that face these sectors and the practical skills that are required in meeting those challenges. With a DBA, I will be expose to salary and prestige. It is well known that people with doctoral degree are well considered and paid in many companies and countries. Personal and professional growth are the important keys that everyone starting a DBA program is looking for to accomplish. Therefore, I think that a DBA program is one of the best. Having a Mechanical Engineering and an MBA and with my discipline, determination, and study have habit, I think I will be a very good student if I am admitted in the program by the UNC Charlotte. Because my goal is to have a DBA degree, my motivation is to take these classes that the program offers and pass them. I do not see anything can stop me if the UNC Charlotte admits because I am well prepared mentally and financially to complete the program accordingly. Therefore, I will achieve my goal which is to receive a DBA degree.
