Pick a tax research topic – Find a topic that interests you (perhaps while you are looking for your tax news article), and write up a summary that explains why it is an issue, who is affected by it, (and other facts you may find are relevant to the topic or situation), recent history/background on the topic, and whether you feel current tax law appropriately addresses this topic. You will eventually write up a short paper, 2-4 pages with an introduction to the problem, internal development and description of the points above, and a summary of your findings/conclusions. (HINT: these conclusions should be supported by facts and statistics in the body of your report). Topic choice due date will be in late October (see dates below), along with 3 sources on the topic (see next item in Brightspace Unit 5).
