My topic for the Narrative Matters writing assignment is going to be the controversy behind at-home births. There is such a division between at-home births and hospital births. There is a controversy behind what is deemed as normal or safer for the mother and child. Equally, both are safe as long as the mother isn’t at risk during the pregnancy. The articles I’ve chosen below relate to the topic due to the cost of medical bills, infant mortality rates, and the after-care of hospital stays.  The major research question being addressed would be “What perceptions do women have about at-home births?”
