This clip is about mirror neurons. Even though the clip is older, this video does a good job explaining what they are and the basics of what we believe they may do. Though research is ongoing, we believe mirror neurons help us understand what others are doing by mimicking the actions of others in our own brains. At the end of the video there is information about mirror neurons and autism. This research is now been shown to be wrong. More recent research shows that there may be some differences between the mirror neuron system of individuals with autism and those without autism; however it is not the type of dysfunction in how mirror neurons work described in the study at the end of the video (i.e. individuals with autism may not have broken mirror neurons, but mirror neurons that function differently).
