Prompt:  Pick any one of the stories that you have read in this unit, and, using your knowledge of literary devices, analyze it in order to make an argument about a main idea or theme of the story you have chosen. Craft a thesis that focuses on literary elements of the text and illustrates how these elements enable the author to communicate a specific theme or main idea in his or her essay.  The body must explain the why/how of the thesis, making direct textual reference.  The conclusion should explain why or how this enhances the reader’s reaction to the text.
