I am writing to request you consider my candidacy for the recent vacant post in the Department of Child, Youth, and Family. I have dedicated my hard work, hoping career progression would present itself within the organization. My experience in my current role as a social worker with the organization and contributions to its success qualify me for this promotion. During my tenure as a social worker, I have provided you with untiring loyalty and have been committed to working above and beyond my position responsibilities. My professionalism is above reproach, and my performance record speaks for itself.

Having been a devoted employee for over three years, I am advanced in seeing the success of our organization and look forward to the opportunity to significantly contribute in a more substantial role. So far, my hard work to see the organization thrive include:

• Received numerous awards and appreciation for the contribution that I have added to the organization that includes social worker of the year, Indian Child Welfare Social Worker Extraordinaire

• Developed plans to improve the clients’ well-being as well as help them adapt to changes and challenges

• Helped also with the settlement of displaced children into appropriate foster homes

• Researched and referred clients to community resources, including child care and, health care facilities

• Involved in helping clients with government interventions to apply for and get benefits

• Communicated with several parties connected to clients, such as housing authorities, language translators, and law enforcement experts 

Over the past years, I have made several contributions to different companies, which led to numerous awards such as 2004 Rookie of the Year as the most improved employee and top team leader and other promotions. I was promoted to Training Development Specialist in my fourteen years working at RGIS. I made a significant contribution towards completing 92 months of case management experience, worked for ten years as a foster parent to over 20 children, and 12 years of treatment planning and human service support. Contributions that I made to other organizations include:

• Training of counselors and worked as a liaison for therapists and psychologists

• Providing expert representation at court proceedings for review of client’s treatment progress

• Performing safety assessments as well as client assessments

• Planning and coordinating activities appropriate for clients and staff

• Facilitating one-on-one and group counseling sessions, frequently referenced DSM-IV and, monitoring of vitals

 I am indebted to the teams that I have worked with for their sustenance in these efforts. I acknowledge their contributions were significant to the success of these endeavors and the organization’s overall success. My appreciation also goes to the leadership and guidance you have provided me with. I understand that this position will demand more effort, time, and organization, but I am ready for the new challenge and feel that the skills I have honed as a social worker will help me succeed.
