- Write a letter or journal entry to someone back home that you had to leave, to a parent or relative who had to leave you such as in “Otravida, Otravez” and “The Pura Principle” or to someone who left or you had to leave based on a relationship such as in “Flaca”. You can also write a letter to Diaz or one of the characters in the text. In your letter you MUST still apply one of the literary theories from this week, and if you letter is personal you MUST show connections between your personal letter and the story. EX: Write a letter from the perspective of the child who remained in his/her native country while the parent was in the U.S. and connect this to Reader-Response or Formalism.
