Please watch Jesus and Paul.  The Word and the Witness.  The program is a little over two hours so please be mindful of the time it will take to watch this.  When you have finished watching the program, take a few minutes to write a response (100-200 words) to these two questions.

First, in the film, scholars point out that Jesus grew up in a world anxiously awaiting a messiah.  Why was Jesus considered a radical and unexpected herald of the "Kingdom of God"?

Second, the author of Cultures of the West describes early Christianity as plural and diverse, populated with many different ideas about Jesus and his teachings.  What role did Paul play in organizing the early Christian church?
