Write the INTRODUCTION PARAGRAPH so that it includes and answers the background information below?

• What is the subject of the paper?
• Where did the issue start?
• What caused it?
• How long has this issue existed?
• Briefly, who is involved in the issue?  That is, who all is it affecting?
• Briefly, what are opposing viewpoints on the controversial issue?
• Briefly, what is the significance/importance of the issue?  That is, why is the issue worth discussing?
• REMEMBER:  The LAST sentence of the introduction paragraph is your THESIS STATEMENT in the “Although/because” formula you have already submitted–and revised, according to instructor feedback.

Although some people believethat pipelines pose too many risks to the health and safety of theenvironment, pipelines are the most efficient and economical ways to moveresources because they boost the U.S. economy and theyreduce dependence on oil from the Middle East.
