Every week (except for the weeks of the Mid-Term and Final exams) students will write a 400- word discussion of the assigned videos from Seeing Art History. 200 words should be devoted to a synopsis of the video’s content. 200 words should be devoted to the student’s own analysis of the principal work of art featured in the video.
Each written assignment will be worth 10 points. The written assignment will be graded on 1) the demonstration of visual literacy, 2) critical thinking, and 3) effective writing. Assignments that are short of the required word count will be reduced in grade by the same % as they are short (a paper that is 10% short will be reduced by 1 point).
