The country selected is the Philippines for the assignment
For this assignment, select one country (other than the U.S. and/or your home country) that you are interested in learning more about or exploring their fundraising ethics, laws, and regulations. Conduct research on fundraising laws and regulations in the selected country using Google, news sources, government websites, and/or the library. The purpose of this assignment is to have each student consider global perspectives on fundraising.
Each student should work independently and submit a written 5- to 7-page, double-spaced, narrative paper which answers the following questions:
- Are there legal requirements in place for fundraising in the country you selected? If so, describe them.
- How do fundraising practices in this country differ from the U.S.?
- Are there cultural considerations that influence nonprofit fundraising in this country? Are these similar or different from the U.S.?
- Are there ethical considerations for fundraising in this country? If not, should there be? Identify any ethical standards that are followed in your selected country and discuss how these are similar or different from those in the U.S.
- What are the unique challenges and pressures for fundraising in this country? Consider government regulations, nonprofit status or incorporation, political climate, government trust, etc. Provide relevant examples in your selected country.
- Consider the fundraising models and strategies used in the course textbook and discussed throughout this semester, and identify any fundraising models or strategies that are similar or unique to this country.
Papers should be written in APA format, using size 12 Times New Roman font and 1-inch margins. Students should create a relevant title for the paper and organize the paper using relevant subtitles (i.e., Legal Requirements, Cultural Considerations, Ethical Guidelines, Unique Challenges, and Fundraising Models, etc.).
No cover page is required, however all papers should include a References list in APA format. The References list is not counted in the total page limit, i.e., 5–7 pages.
The paper is due a week after Lesson 11.
