1. Gollnick and Chinn suggest that teachers treat male and female students differently in classrooms. During the classroom observations, I noticed that most teachers interact more with male students as they move from elementary to high school.

Should there be such a difference in classrooms? Why or why not? Explain your answer with specific examples from the readings and/or personal experiences.

2. The authors have highlighted the progress made on sexual orientation in our society.

Why does harassment against LGBTQ students continue to exist at such high rates in the nation’s schools? What do you think could be done to dramatically reduce the incidents of harassment in schools?
