The automotive industry is one of the world’s fastestevolving industries; it is estimated that automakers spend over 60 billion peryear on research and development (Ili et al., 2010). Furthermore, automotivemanufacturers need to realize that technology and software are as important incar manufacturing as mechanics in today’s fast-paced, technology-drivensociety. Therefore, automakers need to transform the traditional methods tosurvive in this competitive market (Vinodh & Kuttalingam, 2011).

One particular automotive manufacturer, Tesla, coulddecrease the time it takes to get their cars to market, improve costefficiency, build cars based on customers’ needs, improve quality, and betterhandle complexity by adopting the Agile methodology. By adopting the Agilemethodology, Tesla can shorten development iterations, benefit fromcross-functional teams and use customer feedback throughout the process toimprove efficiency.
