final assessment will consist of two parts. Part one will be questions similar to what you worked throughout the course. Main concepts will be included. Part two will be a video-based problem where you will need to pay attention to detail, work out the mathematical difficulties involved, come up with a viable solution, and then document your thinking, calculations, and overall approach. You should also discuss any alternative solutions that may present themselves but that you decided not to go with for one reason or another. The key is complete and solid documentation of your thinking and presentation of all mathematical calculations used. The two parts together will give you the opportunity to show that you have met the objectives of the course as stated in the introductions to each module as well as including but not limited to the following:
- Represent functions using equations, graphs, and x-y tables.
- Solve non-routine and applied problems using algebraic techniques.
- Make decisions based on calculations and mathematical models.
- Work with matrices and with sequences
- Show good habits of documentation
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to setup a solution from a context.
