STEP 1: Select a specific learning outcome (LO) from a program of study available on theAlberta Education website (https://education.alberta.ca/programs-of-study/), which must bedifferent from the LO that you selected for Assignments I and II. The selected program of studymust be for Grade 5.
STEP 2: Create one instructional objective (IO) that aligns directly with the selected LO. Then,develop one performance assessment that measures the achievement of the knowledge a studentwould gain as specified in the selected LO. To complete the assignment, students must:
1. ensure that the selected program of study from Alberta Education is for Grade 5;
2. share the web link for the selected program of study and the page number of the selectedLO;
3. ensure that the selected LO from the program of study is worded correctly;
4. create one high-quality and succinct IO that is aligned with the intended knowledge orskill(s) as stated in the selected LO, and identifies observable and measurableperformance for a student of the selected grade level;
5. develop a high-quality, performance assessment (aligned with the IO) based on thechecklists shared at the end of this document; and
6. include a scoring rubric (either a holistic rubric or an analytic rubric) that can be used forevaluating student performance in the developed performance assessment.
