STEP 1: Find ONE source that has a bias
- I encourage you to look for Structurally Biased sources. As Critical Readers, Structural Bias is the most helpful for analysis, counterargument, and debat
STEP 2: Find ONE source that you believe to be unbiased
- The AUTHOR should not have a Conscious Bias or a Structural Bias
- Remember that Bias is not the same as Opinion. A persuasive article could be unbiased and still have a strong opinion; and something presented as purely informational could actually have a bias. Nonetheless, it may still be easier to find something unbiased by looking at informational articles.
STEP 3: Write a reflection of MAXIMUM 250 words.
- Clearly explain why your biased source is biased, and why your unbiased source is unbiased
- The focus of this assignment is not on writing skills, but please make it as clear and well-organized as you can. I personally recommend writing two short paragraphs (one for each source), but it is not mandatory.
make sure that you indicate the Title, Author, and Publisher of your source.
