Performance Criteria:  The student maintained basic cleanliness and orderliness of a veterinary facility (including hospital, clinic, and laboratory).  The student cleaned and disinfected cages, kennels, and stalls according to clinic procedures.  The student performed procedures involved with the control and prevention of infectious diseases such as parvovirus.  The student maintained the cleanliness and orderliness according to clinic procedures for surgery, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, and examination areas.  The student demonstrated understanding of appropriate sanitation and nosocomial protocols for a veterinary facility o Describe characteristics of different disinfectant groups and their uses. o Demonstrate an understanding of differences in cleaning needs among various areas (For example: frequent cleaning, daily cleaning, weekly cleaning).  The student observed sanitary protocols for treating patients in isolation.  The student practiced aseptic techniques.  The student washed his or her hands between patients.  Animal Usage: No animal usage for this skill. Unlimited disinfection opportunities following proper cleaning procedures.
