Select a company you are familiar with (can be the one you work for) and analyze the approach the company uses to address compensation pay for a specific position (i.e., customer service representative, etc.). Infer its compensation strategy using the five dimensions (objectives, alignment, competitiveness, employee considerations, and management). What business strategy does it seem to “fit” (i.e., cost cutter, customer centered, innovator, or something else)?
