Prior to beginning work on this discussion, review what you wrote for the Week 1 assignment: Discourse Analysis in the Professions. In that assignment, you were asked to consider how you might use a knowledge of discourse analysis in your major field of study and in your current or future profession. Now, in Week 4 of the course, you are asked to revisit this question in light of the theories and concepts you have studied in Weeks 2 through 4 of the course. This discussion forum also provides an opportunity for you to post questions as you continue to work on the Final Paper (due in Week 5) and to further discuss any concepts you have found particularly interesting or relevant in the course so far.

In your initial posting,

• Discuss how the analysis of discourse is relevant to your field of study and career interests. How can you see yourself using the knowledge gained in the course in your current or future profession? Include one real-world example or scenario that is different from the one which you presented in the Week 1 assignment, and reference at least two theories of discourse analysis that are relevant to that scenario.
• Identify any questions you have about the Final Paper, or any of the course concepts presented so far.
• Discuss at least one concept, reading, resource, or aspect of the course that you have found particularly interesting or relevant. Why is it meaningful to you, and how do you see yourself using it in the future?
