Your paper must be between 4 and 6 pages in

length when double-spaced using Times New Roman 12
point font. You must have a cover page that includes: a title
for your paper, your name, the date, and the course
information (AHIS 101). You do not need a bibliography
page, but you must have footnotes throughout your paper. A
footnote is necessary when you quote a source directly and
use quotation marks. A footnote is also necessary when you
summarize information that would not be readily known by
the average person on the street. A footnote should also be
used if you are referencing specific dates or numbers that
would not be commonly known, for example, the statement,
200 Indians died at Wounded Knee, would require a footnote.
Your footnotes should be in the format set out by the Chicago
Manual of Style.
