corporations and organizations. But as humanity generates more than 2.5 quintillion bytes of
data each day, it has never been easier for businesses of all sizes to collect, analyze, and
interpret data into real, actionable insights. Though data–driven decision–making has existed in
business in one form or another for centuries, it is a truly modern phenomenon.
In today’s business world, many corporations are looking for employees (talent) that can add
value to their business by being able to acquire and analyze data, so that important business
decisions can be made based of data.
Instructions:
Prepare a 500–word minimum essay (excluding title page and references) in APA format that
addresses the following:
1.) Research the job market and find an open job role that would require data analytics
understanding and experience. Does the knowledge you hope to gain in this course
align with the requirements of that open role? If so, explain how.
2.) Describe the type of knowledgeskill set an employee would need to have to help their
business succeed in using data to make decisions that create efficiencies, eliminate
waste, and become more innovative.
3.) Lastly, is this a job that you would want to have in the future? Why or why not?
Requirements:
 Prepare a quality, substantive paper that addresses the objectives of the assignment
and the expectations set forth in the grading rubric.
 A minimum of 500 words excluding the title page and references is required.
 Use APA style: Refer to APA Resources and the Online Writing Center resources in
Academic Resources (see SC College Resources Links) for guidance on writing style and
page and citation formatting.
 An abstract in not required and does not count toward the word count if provided.
 A minimum of two (2) sources of credible evidence (e.g., research industry related
journal and periodical articles) in addition to course resources that have been published
within the past five years is required.
