Twenty percent of your course grade will come from your work on a critical review of a provocative opinion piece, The Four Americas. This article is relatively long and dense, so you will want to start early on this.
For this assignment, you will respond to George Packers article as if you were two of the theorists we have discussed in this class. For instance, what might Karl Marx and Max Weber say about this article? Would they agree or disagree with Packer? What about the Critical Theorists, Ralf Dahrendorf, or Patricia Hill Collins? Might they have a different take?
The key here is to show us that you have digested and fully understand the course material and can apply it correctly. The use of course content in quotes to support your interpretation will be rewarded.
