Compare Yalom’s theories and methods of psychotherapy to one other therapist – two at most – using examples from case narratives where possible. (Irvin Yalom-The Gift of Therapy, Ch.32-end)

First, be sure you can articulate to yourself the core components of Irvin Yalom’s approach to psychotherapy: his core ideas, his relationship to the history of the profession, and the key ingredients of his methods.

Now focus on one or two of Yalom’s ideas or methods. Choose another therapist we have studied – Freud, Fromm Reichmann, Rogers, and Luepnitz are obvious possibilities – and compare and contrast Yalom and that other therapist with particular reference to the one or two ideas or methods you have chosen.
