Create a budget assessment checklist with at least six criteria based on the budgeting principles you have studied over the past seven weeks. Your checklist should reflect insights from your previous readings and reviews of public agency budgets, with criteria such as whether a statement of need is included or if performance objectives are measurable. Identify the type of budget you are measuring, then apply your checklist to an actual government agency’s budget. For each criterion, explain the results, for example, “a performance objective is not measurable because…”. Present the checklist in a spreadsheet or chart format, including space for your assessment comments.
