The second part of the Course Project asks you to examine your drug/drug category from an educational perspective.
For Part II, please discuss in essay format all of the following issues (bulleted and Q&A layouts will not be accepted):
X
1) What information did you have about this drug prior to this class? Make sure to include both formal education (such as lessons, classes, workshops, speakers, community events, etc.) and informal education (for example, exposure to news, entertainment, and social media; parents; and friends). What, specifically, could have been more useful to you in your education about this drug? What would you recommend as an effective educational program or format for others about this drug?
2) What was the most surprising thing you learned about the drug/drug category from your textbook? From your research for this project? Discuss. Do you think this information should be explained to students, and if so at what age and for what purpose? Explain your answers as part of your discussion.
3) Go to the website: Commonly Used Drugs Charts | National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
Is there information listed for your drug/drug category?
- If yes, look at the resources and share your thoughts and impressions on them.
- If no, why do you think that is? Please explain your thinking.
You will need to provide a citation for your sources using APA guidelines. If you are unfamiliar with APA citations please refer to the following website: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/08/

Grading for Part II of the Course Project will be based on:
1) Quality of the work: Your interpretation, analysis, and explanation of what your are learning here is important! Give it some depth, and use your own words.
2) Using the same drug or drug category you used in Part I, as the parts of this project are cumulative. The same drug/category must be used to avoid receiving a 0 on this part of the project, which would then require resubmission of Part II using the same topic as you did in Part I, but for no credit.
3) Minimal use of direct quotes: This project requires individual interpretation of information. Points will be deducted from the grade if more than one direct quote is used.
4) Title and Reference pages: Part II must have a cover page that includes a title for your project, your name, the professor’s name, and the course name. References should be listed on the last page. Submitting these pages as separate documents will result in deduction of points.
5) Accuracy of the citations using APA guidelines
6) Spelling and grammar: Remember that the more mistakes you make, the more points you will lose. Be sure to run spell- and grammar-check on this (and all of your) work!
7) Length: Part II should be about 2 pages of content. Points will be deducted if the paper is much shorter or much longer. Your paper should consist of more than just a single paragraph. Papers that are only one paragraph long will have points deducted. The title and reference pages should be part of the same document, but do not count in the page count.
8) Font: Please use 12 point font, in either Arial or Times New Roman. The font must be a dark color, either black or dark blue.
9) Margins: All margins must be one-inch.
10) Spacing: Papers must be double spaced with no additional lines between paragraphs.
