COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of new technologies to coordinate care and exchange health data between different informatics systems. You will prepare a concept map to explain the basic theoretical concept that underlies informatics practice and categorize existing challenges.

    Concept maps depict suggested relationships between ideas and enrich the understanding of new concepts using visual representations of information. Graphic organizers, flowcharts, Venn diagrams, PowerPoint charts, and T-charts are the most common forms. You can use Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, or free web-based applications to develop a concept map.

    There are several web tools, and I am sending some examples located in the helpful resources column. These are just some examples that you can use as a starting point, and you don’t have to pay anything for this assignment. If a website asks for a fee, please find another web-based application.

    1. Please summarize the meaning of biomedical and health informatics and discuss required skills to develop new technologies.

 

    2. Please summarize the challenges to transfer and exchange health data between different systems and devices.

 

    3. Please organize concepts/regulations in hierarchical order. You will identify the most important ideas and put them near the top. You can include hierarchical tree diagrams or flowcharts.

    4. Please use arrows on the map to represent how concepts are connected to one another.
