1). Go to http://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/resources.html (Links to an external site.) - this link will take you to a resource section of the Idea 04′ and Research for Inclusive Settings (IRIS) center at Vanderbilt University. The design of the IRIS website could be slightly different depending on your computer browser.
2) Generally, on the top section in the middle of the page it should say Topic or Resources on the left hand side.
3). Use the dropdown box on one of the Topics and click MODULES. Look over the list of Modules and click on section titled "Collaboration." Choose the "Family Engagement" module (https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/module/fam/ (Links to an external site.)). You should see a screen that includes items 1-5 (e.g. 1-Challenge, etc.).
4). Complete all 5 sections (Challenge, Initial Thoughts, Perspectives & Resources, Wrap Up & Assessment–You DO NOT have to respond to the Assessment questions, just review them.). These Module Topics include short videos and written articles. You are encouraged to watch all the videos related to the topic and review the written documents.
- After you have completed the Module, go to the discussion forum to enter in the following information:
- A summary of the module
- Share at least three things you learned from the module
- Read other students’ reviews of their topic, but you do not need to reply to their posts.
- To earn FULL credit, this discussion post must be detailed with at least two strong paragraphs:). For instance, one comprehensive paragraph would include a summary of the module. The second strong paragraph would include at least three things you learned from the module.
