Coal Transition

PLEASE REFER TO SCREENSHOT FILES AS WELL.

I am asking for another 500 word (2pp., double spaced essay) focusing on the "disturbing conditions" regarding coal and climate change in Germany and, indirectly, the U.S., that are fraised in the 2022 ProPublica/The New Yorker article (e.g., environment, health, socio-economic, political, industrial), which is available at the link for Reading #7 in READINGS folder of Course Materials, and the recommendations by academicians to address them, which appeared two years earlier in the 2020 journal Nature Climate Change authored by Jakob et al. (2020), and available at this link https://www.nature.com/articles/s41558-020-0866-1#Fig1 and also as a link imbedded in LECTURE #7 (found in Lectures folder of Course Materials).

My advice is for your Thesis Statement to note that "disturbing conditions" for an Environmental Health Policy are not only environmental and health, but also socio-economics, political, and more, and to use examples in the information expressed in the articles to support it. Then, discuss in your own words how policy makers should understand and move forward to create an "ecosystem of change" that would assist in solving both local and global disturbing conditions (preventing carbon leakage). I am interested how you interpret and think about the "problem(s)" requiring POLICY intervention, which are described in the 2022 ProPubllica/The New Yorker article, and how now REthinking the academic observations/discussion/ROADMAP from 2020 might facilitate an accelerated solution. You may also be compelled to mention why you think the 2020 suggestions were not being embraced immediately, two years ago :-).
