After doing my research, I thought the user agreement for this particular website is very important. Now a days almost everyone uses YouTube, especially little kids. This agreement does say that you must be at least 13 years of age in order to use it, children under 13 can still be able to use it but they can only watch YouTube Kids. The people that are under 18 need a guardian’s permission in order to use YouTube. Many teens and children today watch and have created accounts for YouTube without the parents/guardian’s consent. This is a violation of agreement. Some terms of the agreement that a user might agree without thoroughly reading the agreement is that YouTube has the right to keep and make copies of the videos you upload or deleted from your account. Any time you violate the agreement, the user gets “strikes” after several strikes, YouTube has the right to remove your Chanel. Users who accept this agreement and violate it can also have their google accounts blocked or removed, since a google account is needed in order to open up a YouTube account. Many might not know this. After going through this agreement, I noticed many new things that I didn’t know about accepting an agreement. A example of terms of use agreement i have thought of is the app Tiktok, I think almost everyone has the app by now to watch videos and no one really cares about the terms of service when you make a account, you just click accept with reading it so you can make your account, Like I haven’t looked at it or cared too until now. But after taking a look at the terms i did find some things that i think people would agree to without reading the terms, and i also think this is surprising and i do see a-lot of people doing this and that is they are agreeing that they will not market, rent, or lease the account. I know a-lot of people do this on youtube and Tiktok, but i never knew that you cant do that. Another thing i found is that, you are letting the app track you and letting them use cookies on you. The app will be allowed to see where you are using the app at and can save what you have watched or liked. The last thing i found and i know that a-lot of users ignore is that if you are under the age 18, you will only be allowed to use the app with a parent or guardians consent and the app will be able to not give you all the features it has since you are under age like going live on the app and not being able to get paid threw views and they will have the right to ban your account if you do inappropriate things.
