Using the information and stories presented in Chs 4, and 8, reflect on the complexities of “opportunities” associated with crossing the border. Think of these issues from business perspective -as the guiding theme. From there  consider the  “human smuggler”, are human smugglers always monsters? How do we understand it as a business, but with potentials for risks and mistreatment? What are the basics of the business (organization, prices)? How have changes in U.S. border enforcement lead to changes in the smuggling business? In summary, what is the field of opportunities and risks in migrant smuggling? Use clear examples from the readings to explain and support your statements.
