Evaluating Art
In the book’s early chapters, it defines art and the process of evaluating artwork. You will write a 3 page paper about a contemporary (20th century or beyond) artist of your choosing. Look in the library for books on artists or online (legit sources). In this paper, you will write about an artist and their artwork using the methods particularly described in Chapters 4 and 5. Use the critical theories to approach, evaluate, and discuss the artwork (you can discuss one artwork, or multiple artworks by the artist). The paper needs to be typed, and double-spaced. A Works Cited page will be your 4th page. Images need to be included on a 5th page, which will be an Artwork Cited Page. Make reference to the images you are discussing in the body of your paper by the artwork’s title and provide a citation with a figure-number designation (see supplemental Brightspaceattachments regarding ‘Artwork Cited’ page). Cite your sources. Do not plagiarize. Use MLA documentation. Additional attachments are provided to assist you in formatting and citing your sources properly.
Use at least two sources when writing this paper.
The paper is worth 10 points of your overall grade and will be due by Sunday, February 27th on Brightspace at 11:59pm.
