Objectives

1. To master locating scholarly articles using the library databases, especially Communication and Mass Media Complete

2. To accurately cite sources using APA formatting

3. To summarize research articles concisely and thoroughly and identify how they might be useful for your own research

4. To write error-free prose

Procedures

1. Each person is responsible for submitting an annotated bibliography for the project.

   1. Each person should locate TEN research articles from scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles related to your research study. You should include at least SIX studies (articles detailing participants, methods, results, etc.) in your ten articles. Articles may be on communication competence in general, communication in your chosen context, or communication competence in your chosen context. They may also be on the method you have chosen to use for data collection and analysis. You should use the librarys database Communication and Mass Media Complete for doing your research. You should attempt to find articles written in the last 15 years.

2. Read each article at least twice, taking notes as you read the second time, and putting page numbers next to your notes.

3. Each annotation should include the following information:

   1. A reference list citation (this is a bibliography) for the article using correct APA formatting. Consult  for information on proper APA formatting.

   2. A two-paragraph annotation, using your best prose, in which the first paragraph contains a thorough summary and evaluation of the article written in your own words and the second paragraph explains how you will use the information in the article for your study.

4. Your completed document should include the following:

   1. Title Page

   2. Alphabetized annotated bibliography

   3. Utilize headings if you have groupings of articles (e.g., articles on methods and articles on context. Alphabetize under headings.

   4. Annotated bibliography rubric below (copy and paste to end of document)

5. Writing (see guidelines on syllabus). Remember to proofread and save your file as a Word file before submitting! Be sure to label file lastname.Annotatedbib.480.spr2022
