 The discussion should focus around the topic of patient advocacy and empathy.

1.  Define advocacy.  How did this nurse advocate for the patient? 

2. What is empathy?  What behaviors by the nurse illustrate empathy/compassion?

3.  What is moral distress and how might this situation create moral distress in the nurse?

4.  Provide two examples of the nurse’s specific body language and what those examples communicate.  (Both videos show examples)

6.  Provide an example from your life when someone advocated for you, OR, you advocated for another individual.
