THE FINAL REPORTOVERVIEW: Demonstrate your understanding of the course by writing a formal report. Select a topicfrom the topic list in D2L content. You are writing a recommendation report, which is less detailed thanother types (e.g., its not a feasibility study which would be research-heavy). The goal of thisassignment is to demonstrate you can create audience-centric content within the design conventionsof a report.READER:Your goal is to bring value to the reader through your report and make a CLEAR, SPECIFICrecommendation so the reader can take action.CONTEXT: In some cases, you will not actually have completed all the work or research described inthe report. However, for the purposes of this class and to further your technical writing expertise,write the report as if you did the work. In the concluding section of your report, you can alsorecommend more research be conducted.RHETORICAL CONSIDERATIONS: When you make a recommendation, you are writingpersuasively. An effective, compelling report will be: Well developed, i.e., all sections feel substantial and thoughtful; content serves as a cohesivenarrative explaining all figures, data, conclusions, etc. Well explained, i.e., the reader doesnt have questions because you have spent time helping thereader understand ideas clearly Well supported with evidence and data Substantial in content, i.e., it looks like youve done your due diligence as a writer andresearcher Formatted professionally and clearly so all readers have easy access to contentREQUIRED SECTIONS:Cover page Brands the document, describes documentspurpose with a title, etc.Table of contents Helps readers access materials; internal facinglinks are helpful on this pageSummary/abstract Helps high-level readers get the gist of yourmessage without reading the entire reportIntroduction Defines the problem, gives context, background,outlines stakeholder concerns, etc. This sectionmay have sub headings, depending on the natureof the topic.Final Report Assignment Sheet 2Body/data section This will be your longest content section and willhave multiple headings and possibly subheadings.
