I want someone to help me with my case study critique paper for my social work class that is called diversity theory in practice and research.
It’s a hypothetical case
Instructions for Case Study Critique: The major assignment for this course is the completion of a Case Study Critique. Choose a case from either a previous or current caseload. Using the culturally grounded paradigm, analyze the intervention and reflect how and why you chose the intervention theory and how it impacted your assessment. In other words, reflect on the range of questions that naturally emerged from the theory and identify how such were limiting while focusing on some aspects of the presenting problem and ignoring others. Based on the material that was covered in class, detail how you would collaborate with the consumer, family, and the community if you received the exact same case again.
This assignment is designed to allow you to examine a case in practice and reassess and intervene using a critical and culturally grounded lens.
And, above all else please take great care to de-identify any and all information that could possibly be linked to the client.
The Case Study Critique has three main parts:
I. Assessment of the Case (3 – 5 pages)
1. Case Overview
a. Provide case background and context
b. Detail the presenting problems in the case
2. Assessment and Intervention Summary
a. Bearing in mind the culturally grounded approach, including theories such as CRT and intersectionality, summarize and critique:
i. The formal assessment used (what the agency required). Identify important aspects of this case left out of the assessment (what were the short-comings of the initial assessment?).
ii. Explain the intervention chosen and whether or not you thought it was appropriate.
b. What did you add to the assessment and intervention used (personal approach or perspective)? Explain why you chose to add them.
c. Discuss the ethical implications regarding the assessments and interventions used by applying the standards of the NASW code of ethics, relevant laws, and regulations.
d. Discuss the ways that your assessment addressed or did not address advancing human rights and social, economic, and environmental justice.
II. Literature Review and Critique (4 – 6 pages)
1. Literature Review: Locate, summarize, and critique in a integrated statement findings from relevant research and practice models located in the literature that discuss issues similar to the case youre presenting. Identify what interventions seem to work and which do not. You should have a minimum of six articles, strive for ten.
2. Literature Critique: Critique this literature from two perspectives:
a. Unique factors of your case and how these match with what you have identified in the literature.
b. A culturally grounded paradigm.
III. What Would You Do Different (3 – 5 pages)
1. Based on your reflections from Section I and your critique from Section II, describe any recommended changes to the assessment(s) and intervention. If none, explain why.
2. Explain how you would collaborate with the consumer and family to solve presenting problems (downstream).
3. Explain how you would address presenting issues at the community and institutional level (upstream).
It is your job to lead the reader logically through your thought process as you arrive at your conclusion. Be sure to cite relevant literature whenever possible. The body of the paper should not exceed 20 pages (excluding title page, abstract, references, and appendices). This scholarly paper should be written using APA style (APA Manual – 6th or 7th edition) with title page, abstract, body of paper, and references. A portion of your grade will be based on style (grammar, organization, clarity of expression, as well as APA style).
