To frame question #1 below for you, consider a child between the ages of 3 and 6 you know/have known (at any time in your life) that you believe could benefit from interacting with a Persona Doll. This can be a child you know now or have had interactions with in the past. Please think of the child’s Social-Emotional Development (SED) “measures” (in bullet points below) and identify one that they need support with. The below “measures” within the SED domain are found in the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP). (pp 8-12) (Links to an external site.) Each measure is elaborated upon, here (click link).
Identity to Self in Relation to Others
Social-Emotional Understanding
Relationships and Social Interactions with Familiar Adults
Relationships and Social Interactions with Peers
Symbolic and Socio-dramatic Play
1. Please give a little background on the child you have identified, their age, and how you know/knew them, and explain how the Persona Doll could provide them with the support they might be needing. What behavior(s) and/or emotions tied to the behavior are they needing prosocial support with? How would you introduce the doll if you were the child’s teacher in a classroom setting or caregiver in a home environment?
2. Please name 3 things you learned, based on either the chapter reading or this lecture. Please be detailed AND include how you can apply your new knowledge to your life.
