Please critique the most recent New York City executivebudget, based on the GFOA criteria link provided. Read the criteria carefullybefore evaluating the NYC budget. Please focus the assessment on the Major’smessage, although studying a couple of typical department budget is also neededto complete the assignment. There is new guidance/criteria to be implemented in2022. I have updated the criteria links. The mandatory criteria should befocused in the assessment.

A budget is complex for cities such as New York. At thisstage, I would like to expose you to the real budget to get a sense of it.Please focus on the main elements/format of a budget, the larger picture, andwe will discuss key concepts in more detail later in the course. Prepare asummary report with evidence/support briefly (not yes/no answers to thecriteria in GFOA table), critiquing the budget against primarily the mandatorycriteria. The length of the report should be around four pagers in a word doc,double spaced as usual, due by the end of this session. You are not expected toknow all the concepts and numbers at this point in this course. I would like toexpose and prepare you, especially those who have no experience with budgeting,to real budget for future further studies nonetheless.
