The class has discussed and you have read chapters 7, 8 and 9.  Your task is to write a 150 word essay on two of the following topics:

1. What is "de facto discrimination" and why is a job analysis important to ensure that as an employer in policing you stay away from legal problems?

2. What is affirmative action and what is reverse discrimination? How does the 1964 Civil Rights Act  and other court rulings or consent decrees  play into the balance between these two issues?

3.  What and why are individual and organizational ethics necessary in reducing police corruption?  Let me know about rotten apple theory and noble cause corruption.

4. What are Evidence-Based, Predictive and Smart policing? How do they effect personnel deployment? Which one do you like best?
