1.2.1. Minimum Page Length and Formatting. Your completed data paper should be a minimum of 5 double-spaced pages in length, and you should use the following format: double-spaced Times New
Roman font with 1-inch margins.
1.2.2. Scholarly References in APA. You will need to cite a minimum of 5 references. Three of these
references need to be scholarly references (i.e., peer-reviewed journal articles or books). You may cite
non-scholarly publications such as newspaper articles, but once again, your data paper should cite at
least 5 references, with 3 references being scholarly publications. In addition, you should use APA
formatting for your in-text citations and references section or page(s). The APA manual deals with a lot
(e.g., where to place your page numbers and how to format headers), but I am only interested in your
in-text citations and references section or page(s) adhering to APA formatting. Your references section
or page(s) do *not* count toward the 5-page minimum
In terms of substance, the most important component is including some discussion of data and/or
methods in your paper, hence the title of this assignment: data paper. I concede, however, that this key
component or expectation is not easily defined. For this assignment, I use data (information) and
methods or methodology (the process of collecting data or information) in the broadest possible terms,
and data and methods often go hand in hand. Discussion of data (information) often involves discussion
of the methods (process) of collecting this data. I want to make clear, though, that the entirety of your
paper does *not* need to address data and/or methods. You simply need to ensure that a sizeable
portion is devoted to such discussion.
PLEASE ONLY USE THE CITATION REFERENCES THAT HAVE BEEN UPLOADED UNDER FILES
